Metal Sculpture

The largest of the metal sculptures I have created, this substantial piece is 3 feet in diameter and made of 1/4" x 4" bar stock. The torch-cut edge and organic shape adds warmth and eliminates the machined feel of raw steel. Creating the precise ‘random’ shape was a methodical endeavor—made possible with a hydraulic press and big hammer. As part of my exploration into different fine art modalities, I am continuing to expand this idea into an extended body of work.
