Culture of Creativity
One of the most important investments a creative leader can make is in the culture of their organization. Beyond unlocking creative potential during client work, there’s the long game and the benefit of play that strengthens bonds and leads to greater productivity overall. Despite the frivolity depicted on this page, I've always taken that responsibility seriously. In building a high-functioning creative team, I go to what some would call obsessive lengths to foster a creatively stimulating environment for everyone.
A few recent examples:
A 24-hour team trail running race in the mountains: Beyond the race itself, awards are given for best team costumes and best campsite. Coming in second place in the corporate category of the race, we're undefeated in the campsite category, out of over 200 teams.
A Superbowl party: The ultimate Goalpost Salsa Dispenser. Talk about a versatile party centerpiece! We didn't quite anticipate the downforce of two gallons of chunky salsa—a little messy until we got the valve modulation dialed in.
A Halloween rally race: A battery powered, ride-able cooler designed to conquer an ambitious race course through the agency. A network of GoPros and iPhones were used to provide a live feed and document the proceedings. Best work party ever!
